The Zoom in-office-whitening procedure has become the most popular cosmetic procedure in dentistry. The advanced power chair side lamp along with the 35% hydrogen peroxide gel expedites and strengthens the bleaching process.
Typically, the hydrogen peroxide gel is applied three times, with each period lasting 15 minutes.
To ensure that your teeth do not become sensitive, we immediately apply fluoride paste gel.
We give you custom-fitted whitening trays, to help maintain the whitening process of your teeth.
Bleaching in the dentist’s office is the fastest way to whiten teeth. Bleaching products are used with heat, light, and/or lasers to enhance the process. While bleaching only requires a one-time treatment, multiple appointments are recommended. In-office bleaching is the most expensive whitening system available.
Teeth whitening is not permanent. Teeth should remain white after a successful whitening process for a variable amount of time. The condition of the teeth, avoidance of staining food and beverages, smoking, and the type of whitening treatment used are all factors that can alter the color of teeth after they are whitened.
Teeth whitening should not be used by children under 16, pregnant or lactating women, people with sensitive teeth, gum disease, worn enamel, or peroxide allergies. Cavities should be treated before any whitening procedures are taken. False teeth and other dental restorations such as fillings and crowns are not affected by teeth whitening and their shades will not be modified by any of the above procedures.
Those with darkly stained teeth may see limited results. Smokers should consult a dentist before beginning any whitening treatments.
Tooth sensitivity and irritation of the soft tissues within the mouth are possible side effects of teeth whitening. Sensitivity can be reduced by using at-home treatments for shorter lengths of time or by periodically stopping treatments to allow teeth to adjust. Fluoride or potassium nitrate toothpastes may ease sensitivity as well.
